A third trailer for The Eminence in Shadow has been released, giving viewers a closer look at the show’s characters and premise ahead of its October 5 premiere date.
The trailer also includes the recently revealed characters Hyoro Gari (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and Jaga Imo, as well as OxT’s opening song “HIGHEST” (Shin Matsushige).
The Eminence in Shadow is based on Kadokawa’s isekai light novel series, which began in 2018 and will conclude in February 2021 with four volumes. Daisuke Aizawa created the artwork. Enterbrain is the imprint that publishes the books.
Among the anime’s main creators are director Kazuya Nakanishi (Comic Girls assistant director, Vivid Strike! main animator), series composer Kanichi Katou (Those Snow White Notes), and character designer Makoto Iino (Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town). The animation production company’s name is Nexus.
The team also includes art director Beom-Seon Lee (Lupin the Third Part 6), colour designers Naoto Tanaka (Darwin’s Game) and Junko Okazaki (Darwin’s Game), photography director Takeshi Hirooka (The Honor Student at Magic High School), and music composer Kenichirou Suehiro (Shadows House).

Eminence in Shadow inspired a manga adaptation by Sakano Anri, as well as a comedic manga spin-off by Seta U. The story began in 2018 as a web novel on Shouetsuka ni Narou.
